Finca Margaretha

A stay at Finca Margaretha comes highly recommended to those wishing to experience authentic Lanzarote. All aspects has been preserved in a typical Lanzarotean farmhouse style.

Finca Margaretha is located on a 7,000 m² site at the northern entrance to the village of Mala/Lanzarote. It is the oldest property Lotus del Mar estate.

Once upon a time, this site was farmed intensively – primarily for the cultivation of opuntias, a type of cactus on which cochineal beetles (from which the natural dye known as carmine is obtained) breed.

Today the Finca Margaretha nestles amidst lovingly-laid gardens. It was painstakingly restored in a traditional style and houses four holiday apartments:

A fabulous extra for the spiritually-inclined: the Pyramid – a landmark of the Lotus del Mar estate, which was built on the site in 1988 – is located in the grounds of the Finca Margaretha.
